“Mochi” (rice cakes) are one of the Japanese traditional New Year dishes. They have always been said to be a dish for special occasions. The common belief is that eating mochi gives You power from the gods and helps You keep good health. Recently few families make mochi at home, but at Japan Career, we decided to organize this second event with the aim of reparing mochi together. The mochi pestle was heavier than it looks, so it took all we had to pound it right, but we managed to prepare tasty mochi this time.
